Underwater Sea Forest

January 2014
LV21 - Gillingham Pier - Chatham

In preparation for the INSPIRE Big Art Day, Underground Pearl created a magical installation in the chain locker in the bowels of the ship.

It later served as the focal point and inspiration for a series of workshops where, working with 200 children from schools across Kent, artists Loren Beven, Katryn Saqui and Wendy Bagley expanded on the installation.

INSPIRE is primarily funded by the Kent Schools’ Funding Forum, with significant partnership funding on arts elements from Arts Council England, via the Royal Opera House Bridge and Artswork Bridge. INSPIRE is delivered by a partnership between Kent County Council’s Education, Learning and Skills Directorate, Kent County Council’s Culture and Sport Group, Kent schools, Royal Opera House Bridge, and Artswork Bridge
